Las Piedrecillas, (the little stones)

is a little
organic garden (in the making),of herbs,

flowers, animals and wild-life.

It is situated in the valley cut by the
river/stream, "rio Turvilla", high in the sierras of the
national park of Canillas de Albaida. The mountain
range is known as "Las Sierras Almijara, Tejeda y Alhama".
Close to the village, the garden enjoys the luxuries of
fresh, clean air, crystalline and mineralised waters and
warm sunshine.

The abandoned finca became ours in 2001. My
husband, Gabriel, with his skillfull andaluz hands, along
with my son Samuel, have cut, cleared, sewn  grown and
built, by hand, "las Piedrecillas".
We continue to make soil, dig, cut, sew and grow to
maintain the garden which maintains the
vegetables, herbs, plants and animals that maintain us.
During the months of the year the gate is open
for relaxation, refreshments, ice-creams, local
interest, walking routes, guided routes, cave
exploration, motorbikes and recreation.
During the summer we dam the river to make a grand
natural pool for swimming and fun for everyone.

freshly dried herbs and flowers for healthy infusions,
cooking and natural beauty products.
Artesan Soap, hand-made 100% olive oil and sunflower
oil soap bars, invested with healthy herbs for the skin.
An Eco friendly hand-made soap for washing clothes.
Conserved products in olive oil; whole garlic and
basil, parsley, and almond pastes.
Vinegars infused with herbs.
Oils infused with herbs.
Aromatic herbs for uses around the home.
Aromatic "pillows" for use in draws and wardrobes.

How to Find Us

By Walking

..approx 30mins
Encountering the little white hermita Santa Ana at the
top of the village; take the road winding down into the
national park, destination, "la Fábrica de la Luz". At
the pine trees there is a fork in the road, take the
left and at the bottom of the hill,(just past "La
Fuente El Chorillo"-a natural water spring),you will
find us. From Las Piedrecillas one can continue walking
to the Fábrica de la Luz,(approx 20 mins)
"La Fábrica de la Luz" Is a local beauty spot where
once the electricity was made. It has camping and BBQ
facilities if you acquire  permission.

By Car

...You will arrive much quicker of course! There
is no problem parking only you may encounter a
lorry, on the latter half of the journey.(the local
quarry is open and working, supplying buildings
materials to the Axarquía region)

By Taxi

...will cost a small fee and can be booked to
return at your leisure.

By Horse and pony

....There is an equestrian riding
school nearby and also a pony or a pony and trap may
be in-expensively hired. The pony and trap ride is the
most fun way to visit the Fábrica for a picnic.(notice
is needed for this excursion). Please enquire for
details.
