As Christmas passes we enter the new year but first there is the “doce uvas”…the twelve grapes at midnight…it is traditional for friends and family to gather the new years eve for supper to eat the twelve grapes of luck, at the stroke of midnight. The plaza bell strikes twelve tolls and are closely followed by a spectacular fiesta of fireworks. Mass is held throughout the holiday time announced by the plaza bell.
